Program Overview

We provide evidence-based interventions that highlight the child's strengths and teach skills to address their challenges. Depending on the needs of your family we provide a range of services, including individual therapy, parent coaching, and family-based counseling. We set realistic goals for your child to achieve, acknowledge their successes and continue toward new goals.

Parent coaching offers parents the necessary skills to respond to emotional and behavioral challenges in order to help their child thrive. We teach parents to encourage and generalize their child’s learned skills to scaffold their growth. Family-based counseling is also evidence-based but adapted to each particular family to offer the best support specific to your family dynamic. We encourage check-ins and parent involvement to optimize progress.

Services Provided

Therapies used in the clinic are informed by evidence and best-care practices.  Examples of therapies used by our team, when working one-on-one with a child, teen or family, are listed below.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on teaching your child about their thoughts, emotions and behaviors. The therapist works with you and your child to challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors and teaches personal coping strategies to achieve therapeutic goals.

Parent-Child Care (PC Care)

PC care is a 6 week program adapted from PCIT to coach parents on skills that help manage a child’s behavior at home, school and in the community settings.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

DBT focuses on improving emotion regulation, mindfulness and healthy coping strategies. DBT is based on developing skills and especially effective for preteens and teens with mood regulation challenges.

Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP)

ERP is used to help children diminish fears and compulsive behaviors.  It is an important tool when treating individuals with obsessive compulsive disorder.

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

PCIT fosters positive relationship building between parent and child through in-the-moment parent training and coaching. PCIT empowers parents and improves a child’s self regulation, compliance and distress tolerance.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT promotes mindfulness, identifies goals and teaches teens and families optimal behaviors based on personal values.
